8th Grade End of Year Activities

Important Dates for all 8th Grade Parents/Students

All 8th Grade parents, please keep the following important dates and deadlines in mind as the school year comes to a close:

April 19 – Please submit a 4 x 6 picture with your student's name as she/he would want it displayed publicly, marked on the back of the envelope. Please submit HARD COPIES ONLY. Select a picture anytime from baby to toddler years and it can be black & white, color, sepia or whatever you desire. We discourage submitting original copies; please provide a copy. Just make sure it is a 4 x 6 marked hard copy.

Pictures may be dropped off at the CW Main Office in the designated box. jennfrenchy72@gmail.com

April 26 - Deadline to turn in permission slips to Mrs. Mignano in the Counseling Office for the 8th Grade Trip to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.

May 6 -Deadline for permission slips for Promo Party

May 6 -Deadline for baby photos

May 17 – 8th Grade Promotion Party(sponsored by PTA) - 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Charlotte Wood.  8th Grade Parents sign up to help with donation of items, set up and clean up. 

May 21 - Awards Night Event -by invitation only - 7:00 pm

May 22 - Awards Breakfast -by invitation only - 8:00 - 9:00 am

May 30 – 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony Practice at San Ramon Valley High School Athletic Field from 8:00 – 11:00 a.m. Drop off and pick up students at Del Amigo

May 30 – 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony at San Ramon Valley High School Athletic Field from 6:00 – 7:15 p.m.  Students to be at SRVHS no later than 5:20 p.m.

May 318th Grade Trip to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom – Leave school at 8:45 and return at 5:30-6:00 p.m. The recommended donation for this trip is $60.  This donation covers admission into the park, lunch and transportation.  If you are not sure if a donation had been made to date, please contact Julie Mignano in the counseling office or Beth Robertson in the main office.

Promotion CeremonyMay 30

  • No tickets necessary - open seating
  • Bleacher and some field seating is available
  • Disabled attendees can look for field seating, wheel chair accessible
  • Shade may be limited to partial bleacher seating so plan accordingly
  • Parking is available in the SRVHS parking lots and on the street
  • Promotion Ceremony lasts for about 1 hour; 6:00 - 7:15 pm
  • Allow time afterwards for congratulations, photos and traffic before heading out for any reservations
  • Restrooms are available near the Snack Shack adjacent to the field
  • No spiked heels - wedges, flats are fine.
