Updates
The Charlotte Wood Charger Fund is a volunteer-run, non-profit (501(c)(3)) affiliate of the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation, dedicated to enhancing the quality of education at CWMS.
Charger Fund's Sources of Funding (this past year):
Corporate Match: approx. 12%
Parent Donations: approx. 88%
The Charger Fund supports two primary areas, CLASS SIZE REDUCTION and TECHNOLOGY
Class Size Reduction
This past year, Charger Fund donations of $215,000 funded over 12 additional classes.
This reduced class size in:
- All 6th and 7th Grade Core classes
- All 8th Grade English and History classes
- All Math classes
- All Science classes
Smaller class sizes allow for fewer distractions and more individualized, hands-on and creative learning.
Technology
There is NO state funding for school technology. Parent donations provide current technology to support today’s learning environments.
This past year, the Charger Fund was able to fund $48,000 in new technology purchases which included:
- Chromebooks and Mobile Carts for school-wide use
- Macs and Macbooks
- Classroom Projectors
- Document Cameras
- Computer Software
- Printers
- Computer Accessories for SBAC Testing
- Training, support, and maintenance for existing technology
In the past, the Charger Fund has funded new equipment for the Video Production class and Updated Robotics Equipment for our Tech Lab. And much more!
